BioLink™ LinkTaq™ Hot-Start (HS) is our most popular polymerase for low copy number, multiplex, direct, and high-throughput PCR applications. 

LinkTaq™ HS offers industry leading sensitivity, specificity, and speed thanks to the boosted processivity of our LinkTaq™ HS polymerase.

Our R&D team performed site-directed mutagenesis on the active site of Taq polymerase, which increased its processivity significantly and generated LinkTaq™ HS.  With improved processivity, LinkTaq™ HS is a fast-mode compatible enzyme and offers 15 second/kb extension times and a 40-cycle protocol in less than 33 minutes.

With improved processivity also comes improved enzyme efficiency and in turn, greater yield and sensitivity.  LinkTaq™ HS is, therefore, an excellent choice for low copy number applications.

LinkTaq™ HS offers robust and reproducible performance even with GC and AT-rich templates or crude samples and generates products up to 6kb.

A monoclonal antibody potently inhibits the activity of LinkTaq™ HS prior to initial denaturation at 95°C, allowing for reaction setup at room temperature and greatly reducing the potential for nonspecific amplification and primer-dimer formation.

LinkTaq™ HS is available in two formats: a 2X Mastermix – just add template and primers, or in a 2-tube format containing a 5X reaction buffer (without dNTPs) and LinkTaq™ HS Polymerase (5u/uL).  The Mastermix is available with an optional inert, red gel-loading dye, which allows for the direct loading of PCR product into gels.
